The baggage of feminism
While gender equality receives widespread support among young women, many have mixed views on feminism. Despite the push by celebrities and pop culture to make being a feminist en vogue, the term still carries some very weighty baggage.
When Karrin Agness attended the University of Virginia she sought to create a community for young female conservative intellectuals. Her efforts have since spurred numerous branches of the Network of Enlightened Women on college campuses across the country.
